Protests against the recent Indian Supreme Court ruling reinstating Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) spread past the Indian border as the local LGBTQ group Satrang hosted a candlelight vigil Dec. 13 here to express their disbelief and solidarity with their comrades in India….

Thousands Rally in U.S. Opposing Indian Ban on Gay Sex
Thousands of people in the U.S. participated in rallies Dec. 13 and 15 to protest a recent Indian Supreme Court decision which criminalizes gay and lesbian sex.
In 2009, the Indian gay and lesbian community cheered as a Delhi High Court struck down Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, a 152-year-old law which prohibited “carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal….”
