Pronouns: She, Her, They, Them

Amrit Kaur is a queer, undocumented, South Asian femme and filmmaker. By challenging the multiple barriers in immigration, academia and the American healthcare system, she realized how important resources and community efforts are and therefore founded a multimedia platform called Brown Girl Joy with co-founders Jazz Kaur and Amani Kaur. This project includes important conversations surrounding the intersectional experiences with depression, anxiety, queerness, happiness, interpretations of race relations and limited access to resources that marginalized folks experience every day. She hopes to uplift and create spaces for humxn beings across the globe with her work as a storyteller and fundamentally change the playing field that favors the stories and narratives of those with power and resources.
